Zadok Calendar: 49-Year Cycle

How to Interpret Yovel-Jubilee Sheets

On the 49-year cycle sheets, each sheet is a Yovel-Jubilee cycle. The 50-year cycle sheets are not Yovel-Jubilee cycles. The articles explain this.

To determine the cycle you are in, look to the top left corner of the sheet you are on, and it will show which Yovel cycle the sheet is. The first number after the word Cycle is the Yovel number which is celebrated on the first year of the 49-year cycle on the sheet. The second number is the number of the 49-year Yovel cycle on the sheet.

This may sound confusing if you are unfamiliar with how the 49-year cycles work. Briefly, if we begin with the first cycle, you will see in the top left corner, Cycle 0-1. This cycle begins with the creation of Adam. It is a 49-year cycle. The next sheet will have in the top left corner, Cycle 1-2. As said above, the first year of the second 49-year Yovel cycle is a Yovel year. It continues this way. Anytime you are looking for a Yovel year, you will find it on the first year of the next Yovel cycle. To sum this up, the first number after the cycle on the top left corner of each sheet is the number of the Yovel that is celebrated in the first year of the next Yovel cycle on the sheet. The second number is the cycle number of the next Yovel. Each sheet is a Yovel cycle.
